SBL DigiBanking Privacy Policy


SBL DigiBanking (Mobile Banking App) Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to users of the Standard Bank mobile application. This Policy describes how the mobile banking application may collect, use and share information from or about you and explains how the information may be shared or used.

1. Information That We Collect


We may collect information about you through the mobile banking application including information about your device, your mobile number and mobile model no etc. This information is collected and analyzed to assist us with fraud detection and for other security purposes, and to enhance our ability to optimize and personalize your experience while using our mobile banking application.
Device Information
Through your use of the mobile application we may collect information about your device such as the device model, and the name and version of the operating system and IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity). We may also collect your phone number and the identity of the carrier. This information will be retained by Standard Bank Limited for as long as needed but will only be used for the limited purposes stated within this policy.
Location Tracking
There may be certain information transmitted to us regarding your location when you log in or request information through the mobile application, such as your physical location. This information may be provided to mapping applications to assist you in locating nearby SBL ATMs, Branches, Agents, CDMs etc. Your location data will be retained by Standard Bank Limited for as long as needed but will only be used for the limited purposes stated within this Policy.
Apply for Product
There may be certain information transmitted to us when you apply for any product. Standard Bank stored the information and will only be used for the specific product purposes.


2. Disclosure of your information

The information you provide to us is held on a server completely owned by Standard Bank Limited. Your information may be accessed by or given to our staff whom we may use to part of our services. In no circumstances, we may pass your information to third parties to enable them to contact you about products and services.


3. Security Measures


We protect information you provide us in several ways. We use encryption standards and SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to help ensure that information passes to Standard Bank Limited without being intercepted by third parties. User IDs and passwords are used to help safeguard access to your information through the Mobile Banking Application. Moreover your device’s IMEI number will be incorporated in order to restrict the access. Thirdly, during beneficiary add during transactions you will be asked to enter the One Time Password (OTP). Devices IMEI, User ID & Password & One Time Password should be matched before transferring fund from your Mobile Banking Apps.
As always, we strongly encourage you to assist us in that effort by not sharing your Standard Bank App User ID and password with anyone. In addition please inform us immediately if you lost your device or if you change your mobile number.

5. Changes to Our Mobile Privacy Policy
